I hardly promote my music anymore, so I'd love your help sharing these tracks if you enjoy them. One of the best ways to help any small artist is to add new music you're enjoying to your playlists. Big love! S

These tracks are already live on [insert your favourite streaming platform here] and Siri knew what I meant when I asked it to "Play "Resistance" by Simeon Smith".

As for the titles, they both come from books. Resistance, from The War of Art by Steven Pressfield, and the second track from Hu Anyan's incredible I Deliver Parcels in Beijing.

Both tracks are about that tension between the obligations we all face every day, and the responsibility we owe to ourselves to create beauty in this weird time. In these tracks I've found the relief that I only get when I make something.

Turn your LGS acquaintances into a playgroup. Gaming accessories you’ll actually use. Custom token artists that slap. Budget Bling. Your playgroup will love you if you do these 5 things. Tiny content creators you should be following. Dumb mana sinks for decks that ramp hard. Maybeboards done right.

And no, you can’t see the rejected piece. And yes, this could be bigger than my Hyperinflation project.

Generally, I use Canson XL pads, but I’ve found smooth, branded Bristol to be a pretty standard affair, at least when it comes to my needs.

Oh my word! What an achievement! Congratulations! And thanks for over a decade of entertainment.

This one is some recycled cork and eco paper thing and was a gift. Usually I opt for anything hardcover, white (not off white) and smooth. My preferred paper is Bristol Board.

I would blame @saffronolive.bsky.social’s no rare build (which is an amazing feat of deck building!) for it’s prevalence, but digging deeper the bigger issue is how expensive arena can be if you want to play meta decks, and how quickly this crazy turn-4-win standard churns out busted cards.

Aside from that, I have a sneaking suspicion that we’re seeing this discussion now because we’re about to see a lot more smaller sets like Spider-Man that use hybrid mana to make up for their lack of options in limited formats. Those cards will then sell better if they fit in more commander decks.

For me: limitations spark creativity. Aesthetics matter. I don’t care what you put in your deck, as if you tell me you have a silver bordered card or a slice of cheese in there for some reason, that’s cool; we’re cool. As for my decks, they won’t be including off-colour hybrid cards or fetch lands.

I used to do this with x wing lists! Mid-game it’s so easy to forget different triggers. I also used to prioritise simple options that I couldn’t get wrong over “better” more complicated options.
