No UK politician wants to say how much it will cost to catch up to where we were 20/30 years ago. If they did, I am not confident that enough people would vote for it.

Unfortunately, the NHS has been through the 'death of a thousand cuts' across the last 40 years. No politician wants to start on the road back.

When I first joined in 1991, Diane was one of the people I met who held meetings at her house and gave great encouragement. The last time I saw her was when she gave a talk to the Watford Humanists around 2010. A remarkable person.

Unfortunately, none of them understood local govt as they only want national govt. They also did not know that - from the mid-80s onwards - local govt finances have been put through the mangle every single year. If they had anyone who had lived in the UK for the last 40 years - they would know that.

In 1989 my then girlfriend said we had to go to the Dominion for a concert by this woman I had never heard of. I have never forgotten that evening.

For me (in the UK) USA lost its moral authority the day in March 2003 when it started a war in Iraq. It was terrible that our PM (Blair) agreed. The whole event was wrong from the outset.

All British media that I have seen, are reporting that the USA has 'captured' the President of Venezuela. They are all using Trump's term when the correct term is Kidnapped.

Currently, the only side of social media that most politicians see is that they can get their OWN message out. They have not yet learnt that the Internet has a long memory that can be checked. A very 20th century point of view.

[UK based] I've had various Bosch dishers since 1988. Never had a pump fail. Possibly because they use an impeller and so detritus that is not caught by the filter, simply goes through. When checking the impeller chamber, it's always clean.
