Stereolab at the Royal Festival Hall. Not sure why they booked it as they kept asking people to get up and dance (frowned upon by security) and rip up the seats “like they did in the 60s” (also frowned on).

Three quarters of the way through the CDGXX day 2 at the Blue Moon and it’s all been a blast so far. Very good of them to delay the 2nd half start by 15 mins to give me time to get back from my pizza as well :-)

Will be at the Blue Moon for this on Saturday. Should be epic.
CD&GXX is almost upon us and the timetable is now sorted - whip through the slides for those important details. Times always subject to change, so get there early and stay til the end as it's all gold.

Customer feedback this week;

‘Please can you get some more diversity at the National Trust by encouraging more hot men to visit.’

Ideas for how we do this v welcome. Nothing too racy please - we are the National Trust not the National Tryst.

Just a quiet mention of a new thing:

musiclivecambridge.com

It's like the Colchester site, but for Cambridge. Early days yet, while I add more and more data, but hopefully it'll be useful to someone.

Anyone out there based around #Cambridge?

NEW PHOTOS!!!! - Taken by The Surrey Herald around 1964/65 - Carole Ann Ford (Susan) is accompanied by some Daleks not long after The Dalek Invasion of Earth was filmed to Woking for a publicity visit. There's about 17 photos from this visit. More in the reply.

One of the best promoters around @elifyalvac.bsky.social has put together a compilation with recordings from their Heart Of Noise events in Cambridge. My contribution is from when I was there in April playing violin through distortion units heartofnoisecambridge.bandcamp.com/album/heart-...

Some more musical reading for the summer. There is a film as well (which came first I understand) but no idea how to see it.

So Pete Sinfield wrote Land of Make-believe for Bucks Fizz and included a dig at Thatcher in it? Huh. #totp

Just remember, if you don’t trust an Age Verification service to keep your face private why are you trusting a free VPN to keep your entire browsing history private? www.engadget.com/cybersecurit...
VPNs are booming in the UK after age restriction laws, but free options carry big risks
Using a free VPN without vetting it can make you less safe online.

Latest CD from eBay helpfully came with the original receipt enclosed. Apparently it was bought from Polar Music in Manchester in 2004 for £12.98. Now going for £18.50 plus charges. Which seems fine. I wonder if Polar Music are still in business?

Shockwaves continue to spread across Bluesky today as people discover the age verification process is - unexpectedly - quick, easy and safe. No one’s identity is (more) at risk today.

Finally found someone selling La Neu Zealand for a sensible price on eBay so finally I think my Klaus Dinger collection is complete.

After reading this review I so want to watch Species again!
After the recent, sad news about #MichaelMadsen, our grind house geezer Mat Colegate turns his attention to Species (1995) only to find that the past is a foreign country where they do things differently...

What’s Wrong With Being Sexy? #Species turns 30

I think we’re all missing the really important question left unanswered in #DoctorWho - is Ernest Borgnine alive or dead?
