… works differently.

you’re cracked though it’ll be fine.

ummm… any other advice.

use @mrousavy.com libs where possible. (especially react-native-mmkv)

use react native migration helper when the time comes. stay on top of version upgrades.

message if stuck

… just make some react native apps to learn. you’ll pick it up fast. there are lots of not-so-clear mindset shifts you’ll have to go through. eg - my first iteration of our app has some bugs because screens aren’t automatically unmounted when you leave/return like the in browser so useEffect…

… competition. if you can use expo i highly recommend you do. they have put a lot of work into making these systems easier to navigate and their dev tools make life easier. it wasn’t an option for my company…

… which is a faster and allows talking to the underlying systems a bit easier.

you will need to become familiar with xcode especially and android studio to a lesser extent.

if you don’t use expo you’ll feel like a second class citizen. it’s a bit like next and react except there is no good …

December 7, 2024 at 9:07 AM
ok so imagine it

you have seed node at the base of the plant containing all the algorithm for growing the plant (it’s dna)
it can generate child nodes that go out and scrape data. that data they feed to the seed node which grows the plan out the top with scraped data
