A male Hawfinch at one of our drinking pools. In the summer it gets hot and very dry here so the pools we created attract a wide range of bird species (over forty have been observed from one of our hides).

Brimstone Butterflies courting. This species is understood to be the reason that 'butter'flies are called just that. The rich yellow males are one of the first species taking to the air across Europe in Springtime.

Red Squirrels are one of my favourite photographic subjects and here in the forest in France we live surrounded by them. Sometimes we get to watch them from our bed as they scamper though the oak trees close to the house.
