Had this issue with Elden Ring mods. Some of the best mods wouldnt even WORK unless you had Discord open and were in their server.

I'm talking about using the Switch, normally in handheld mode. Replace the buttons with a D Pad (which would be on the left Joycon). Like, ya know, a Switch Lite.

I own a Pro Controller and a Pro 2 Controller. These don't help me when playing a game in handheld mode.

You know, I've never once even seen the "Hype" option, be it mobile or PC. I've had some of my videos hyped, but been unable to hype others, so not sure if its even fully rolled out.

I own a Pro Controller. I own the new Pro Controller for the Switch 2. Neither of these are helpful when you want to just play in handheld mode, which was what I was getting it.

I get that there are 3rd Party options, I'd rather have something official. The 3rd Party stuff never felt good to me.

The idea was sound, sure, but how often was it ACTUALLY used, especially 9 years in? Those "kid brothers" could easily be 18 years old now. The majority of people playing consoles aren't always playing co-op either.

There's never been an official Joycon with a D-Pad. Only 3rd Party.

I mean, this was definitely not a "console wars" post. Nintendo makes consoles with games as well. The key difference in controllers is that the Dualsense has an actual D-Pad, not just 4 clicky buttons. Your finger rolls over it more smoothly without that giant gap between the four buttons.

(that's not to say that I don't hate how it's absolutely destroyed the attention span of people, so much so that people are less apt to watch long form content unless you jingle keys and make an explosion sound in the first frame, but that's a whole other topic)

Pretty much, yeah. They've absolutely ruined the search (even more than it already was) function on the platform too. I don't ever want to watch a shitty vertical clip of a Marvel movie, forced into 60 FPS with dubstep playing over it. I don't "hate" shortform content, but YT isn't the place for it.

I'm talking about people who specifically ONLY post Shorts btw. I don't really see anything "wrong" if you're using them as a way to try to pull people over to your standard longform content, but the numbers speak for themselves, people just don't subscribe for shorts alone.
