Ghetto or justified?

When I was working for $15 an hour as an assistant I used to go to the Sephora a few blocks away from my job and spray myself with their fragrances because the only thing I could afford was a $5 body splashed from the beauty supply store that only lasted a few mins.

That sinking feeling of panic after you’ve messed something up, when you’re the only Black woman in the room, hits different.

Survival mode kicks in.

You feel the intense urge to hid and scream because you know that you won’t get grace 99 things done right but that 1 mess up will define you.

Yup. Those men who dated one Black woman and got hurt now as adults it’s “all Black women” are this and that so they can date their “preference.”

I love Jimmy Kimmel, especially when I watched him tear for Regina King learning shed lost her son.

But it’s kind of interesting how we barely heard a peep out of folks when Joy Reid and other minoritized women lost their show.
