“Rape victim” and victim of sex trafficking” versus “prostitute” or assumed a “runaway” when dealing with females and specifically those under 18.

Ann Coulter was racist af to his face and he said he respects her because she challenged him and spoke her mind. Vivek takes a lot of racist abuse from the people he wants a pat on the back from. He gets wtf he deserves.

Ingredients sounds good but yeah they need to change that name especially if it’s rooted in racism.

Jenn Q, the OP, posted this today. When I commented on the importance of understanding these nuances, she was kind enough to prepare a separate detailed explanation. Please read and repost. Even if we know it, re educating ourselves doesn't hurt. #JennQ Thank you!

What!? I did not know there was a drink named that, and I did not know that those weirdos have it as their favorite. Wow. Smh.

They really went hard on that Opium Crisis.

It’s wild how words change depending on who’s affected.

When drugs hit Black communities, it was a “crack epidemic.”

When drugs hit white communities, it became a “health crisis.”

That’s what we call a dog whistle. The language changes when the skin color does.

The news story I wish SOME reporter would cover:

How many ICE agents are pardoned Jan. 6 insurrectionists?

You can learn a lot by how the names of things change over time & context

Like when the medical profession became the healthcare industry

Or when the news became the media

Or the military-industrial complex became defense contractors

This is how Newspeak is born

lol don’t make fun of me, but I’ve just discovered audiobooks.
jennqueen.bsky.social
Oh thanks. I’ll try that now. I’ve never done audiobooks before. For some reason I thought I’d have to go in and they’ll give me a device to listen. lol. 😆

Yeah. I need to go visit. I’ve had my library card for two years and sadly I haven’t used it once because I’ve been so busy. But I definitely need to make the time to go to my local. The library in my area actually announced they had a 24% increase in book checkouts so I’m excited for them.

Thanks for the recommendation. My book budget this month is depleted but I’ll add this to next month’s.

When they went from calling it “drug abuse” to “drug misuse” I just about lost my f*cking mind.

This whole administration is no dog whistle but all bullhorn.

The GOP has come out of their Klan Kloset thanks to Trump.
