We spend a lot of time talking about what we disagree with. We spend a lot of time articulating what we don't want to happen. But we don't spend nearly as much time becoming intentional about what we DO want. Our opposition should be moving the world towards OUR vision of the future.
Okay this is getting out of hand. I don't wanna play no more. 😂

Yep.
DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

Things to unravel in systemic change versus interpersonal

" Just because someone's presence makes you FEEL like the way your oppressor/ abuser does , doesn't mean they ARE your oppressor and abuser"

5 or so years ago, my family decided that, instead of giving traditional gifts, we'd have a book exchange.

In that spirit, here's a list of unique, wide-appeal books for #FridayBooksRecs to help you gift something special for that hard to shop for person in your life.

On Feb. 8, 2025, Weisenburg failed out of fire training."

One of the biggest advantages we have is that many white supremacists are incompetent.
Gavin and Tanner, planned and trained for nearly a year, legal documents say, in an elaborate attempt to invade a Haitian island, kill its Black men, enslave its Black women and Black children and fulfill their "rape fantasies."

AI is a lack of consent technology
Not satisfied with just destroying their own brand goodwill, OS companies are now using AI to try to destroy the good names of the apps users install. (Scrivener taking out adds to explain how it has no AI but Apple adds some anyway.)

TurboTax is about to be integrated into ChatGPT, where customers will be guided through tasks tied to their tax filings or financial profile by the AI chatbot.

TurboTax owner Intuit is also paying OpenAI more than $100 million a year to power AI agents.

This is y'all's chance to work on a webapp where the whole point of using Rust isn't to scale up—it's to scale DOWN. 6k reqs/s on a sub-US$30 machine is no joke. And it's a hard copyleft ecosystem that we're going to protect for the folks who rely on us! Let's do open source right.

One of the challenges since I got my ADHD diagnosis is that I can't really tell if the issues I observe now are the same as they've always been, or if they're actually worse and I just don't have a good frame of reference. I forget things all the time now. But maybe I always have.

In almost every substantive conversation about AI with working professionals, there's almost always a person who is hardcore anti-AI. But not usually someone who is willing to be a staunch advocate. I wonder what that means.
