As I near the halfway mark of my MFA, I feel increasingly confident that this is the second worst way to write a book, after NaNoWriMo.

I've been feeling pretty burned out lately but it's a holiday where my clients are, and one of my cats has warm little beans this morning, so the day has potential.

Really excited that my poem "amenorrhea" is in the latest issue of Prism International!

I got back into writing poetry within the past couple of years and it's been such a joy to have that form back in my life.

Grab a copy if that's your thing <3

Co-development can at best save a few studios and individual devs who are good at co-development. Bravo to them, but [single thing with localized impact] can't "save" an industry under powerful financial pressures from multiple angles.

The layoffs across games and games journalism have been disproportionately affecting the women in the industry, and even more so, black women.

Support the indies that champion their voices before it's too late (& please share more in the replies)

"Racist people are firing and laying off Black women at three times the rate of other women."

😬Yikes! It sounds bad when you say it like that!

"Black women are losing jobs at 3 times the rate."

Much better! Makes it sound like the Black women just need to be more careful or better at their jobs!
Black Women Are Losing Jobs At Three Times The Rate Of Other Women | Essence
New labor data shows Black women accounted for a disproportionate share of job losses across 2025, especially in federal, education, and care-sector roles.

In the year or two before I got access to medication that works, when my joints were all inflamed, an ebike made it possible for me to stay active, and get to where I needed to go.
It really annoys me that the moral panic over e-bikes obscures the incredible impact they have had for disabled people.
This. For the disabled they are a vital tool, and without mine, I am housebound. The inherent ableism infuriates me, especially since I am a careful rider. In every incident I have been in, and there are very few, I was the victim not the cause. Every time.
