I'm guessing he ruining stock value by making slavery illegal. Paying your workers is bad for the bottom line. But shorting a stock is a bit different so I think I got the basics? But there's a bit more to it I'm assuming.

Christian nationalists will always promote stupid ass theories like this because it shifts the focus off of how much abuse is perpetrated by religious community leaders and provides a new target to rally around. Reality means nothing.
