We used to go blueberry picking at a spot near my granddad’s cottage. It was at least a two person job: one to pick, and the other to walk around banging a metal pan to keep the bears away! 😆

Wholeheartedly agree, although my related pet peeve is when you encounter a race with a similar tech level, and they turn out to be animalistic monsters. Tommyknockers, The Thing, the BBC adaptation of War of the Worlds. All great, but all fall prey to the same conceit.
