When the mother of #WonderWoman is accused of murder, she recruits #Batman to help her solve the crime. After being hit by lightning to stop him investigating, he confesses to Wonder Woman about his lack of faith.
Bruce Wayne lies in bed, badly injured, while Wonder Woman tends to him.

Panel 1: Bruce reclines against purple pillows, speaking weakly. He says: “Well, I’m glad they’re looking into it.”

Panel 2: Wonder Woman leans forward, wringing out a cloth. She asks: “A joke? From the Batman?”

Panel 3: Close-up of Wonder Woman’s hands wringing the wet cloth over a golden bowl. Bruce says: “I joke. I have a fine sense of humor.”

Panel 4: Wonder Woman looks down at him calmly and asks: “Do you?” as she wipes the wet cloth over his forehead.

Panel 5: Bruce smirks faintly on the pillow as she keeps wiping his forehead. He says: “You’re not exactly a barrel of laughs.”

Panel 6: Wonder Woman leans in closer, smiling softly. She replies: “At least I smile.”

Panel 7: Bruce closes his eyes and tilts back his head on the pillow, murmuring: “Clark smiles. You glow.”

Panel 8: Wonder Woman hands wring out the cloth again over the bowl. She asks: “This is another joke?”

Panel 9: Close-up of Bruce's lips. He whispers: “Can I tell you a secret?” Bruce Wayne opens up to Wonder Woman about his past and his views on God.

Panel 1: Bruce lies back against the pillows, eyes half-closed, as Diana wipes his forehead again. He says: “You asked me about God. I… lied. He isn’t in the alley. He’s…”

Panel 2: Bruce continues, voice low as Diana keeps wiping his forehead: “I wasn’t raised with much religion. But I felt, as a boy, that there was something… something good above us.”

Panel 3: We see the two from above as Wonder Woman kneels at his bedside and wets the cloth again, listening intently. Bruce says: “And then my parents… They were so kind. And they died. While I watched.”

Panel 4: Bruce raises his left hand slightly, brushing away Diana's hand as she goes to wipe his forehead again. He asks: “What kind of God would do that?”

Panel 5: Wonder Woman gently holds Bruce’s hand in both of hers as he lies back against the pillow. He says: “I knew. There is nothing above us but sky.”

Panel 6: Bruce sits up, with Wonder Woman still clasping his left hand in both of hers. He says: “Then I met you.”

Panel 7: Close-up of Wonder Woman’s surprised expression. Tears are starting to form in her eyes. Off-panel, Bruce says: “And you were… kind, like Mother and Father come again.”

Panel 8: Bruce slumps back slightly. He says: “Diana… after knowing you… I went home… and looked up…”

Panel 9: Bruce lies back again, eyes closed, exhausted. He finishes: “…and I prayed.”
