“Worldwide” is the key word here. Unfortunately Zuck still has a near monopoly on how people in a lot of poor countries connect to the internet and it’s not surprising they would be pushed into using threads. The vast majority of that activity is not in English(and often extremely unmoderated…)

These people are permanently stuck in the ways things worked prior to the 21st century, for the past 25 years “treats” have been getting cheaper and necessities getting much more expensive. Capital has managed to claw back all the savings that mass offshoring and automation have brought.

They are fundamentally incurious children who fundamentally do not understand how rule of law and governance works, it’s one of the reasons they keep chopping away at it domestically thinking that somehow when it breaks down their money will still mean something.
