Sometimes, randomly as people w/ active imaginations are wont to do, I'll wonder if I could hold out against torture. Then I remember @jfrostauthor.bsky.social writing a badass character who, realistically, wasn't able to hold up against extreme torture and realize that I'm a total marshmallow.

Ever wonder what snow in the swamp would look like? This is 5 miles into the Louisiana swamps in the Atchafalaya basin... it's unreal... having lived down there for the first 28 years of my life, we never saw anything like this.

Smashed records.

Creeping dread is one of my favorite tropes for slow-moving horror. You think you're getting frustrated, and then something happens and you realize that it's actually anxiety from waiting for the other shoe to drop. #booksky #horror #creepedout

I’ll be participating. The question is: do I take Sense and Sensibility or a book about poisons? #romancelandia

I know books are cheaper and hand delivered to your door step if you order on Amazon. I know. I understand times are rough and things are expensive. I just ask you please consider once in a while to go to a local bookstore. Or visit a library. They'll even order books for you. Please I beg of you.

It crosses my mind that some people are paying to have their body freeze sculpted, when they could just go outside and sit on a metal park bench for free today. Single digit temperatures this morning!

Recently I was reminded that WellNow clinics have slushy machines in them. A moment of silence for all of the WellNow workers who have to clean up when one of those is inevitably dropped or thrown.

The assault on NIH is a test for how the national media covers the Trump admin: Trump is shutting down medical research!

That is easy to communicate. Will they treat it as a 5 alarm fire in a way that forces the government to respond, or will they downplay & caveat it?
