Recently moved over to Linux a month ago, so all of this is things I’ve learned over the last month.

I spent so much time trying to figure out how to install r2modman to play modded Lethal Company just to find most of this info out 🙃

afaik, different install methods give applications different ‘scope’ or varying amounts of your machine it can either read or make changes too, so depending on the program it’s better to use methods that properly install it, but I haven’t dared to go beyond using an app browser yet for things

There’s like several ways to install things across Linux, and it seems some branches only support different methods/file types depending on the Distro. Steam OS uses flatpaks, but Bazzite doesn’t support that. It *does* support App Image files though, which are dead easy to install at least.

I’ve been having the same trouble getting used to that as well 🫠

I’m on Bazzite, as I remember hearing that jt was pretty similar to the OS the Steam Deck uses for its desktop mode (since it also uses KDE Plasma) but they both install things differently

I’ve always wondered if being to see depth in-person was a factor, or if it’s just because we’re so used to seeing ourselves in the mirror from a very certain angle compared to a camera where it can be in literally any position

I haven’t logged into the other site since the beginning of the year and I’ve been really enjoying it so far! There are definitely more than a few gripes but it has absolutely supplanted twt for me
