The original statement is very broad. Sure, you might not need calculus to connect APIs or import Python libs, until the problem you’re solving actually involves math. Both programming and engineering are fundamentally about formalising and modelling things, which is math.

I’m at around N3 and still have trouble grasping what exactly is being said in a sentence made up entirely of stacking passives and figure-it-out-yourself context. By the time you figure out who did what, you’ve already forgotten what was at the beginning of the sentence.
