I've been using Bitwig for several months now and I don't have as much Ableton experience personally but as far as I can tell the primary reason to use it over Bitwig is if you're attached to any specific Max for Live devices

Like, if you're good enough with computers to help your grand parents out you can handle Linux just fine

I second CachyOS, if you read the wiki and pick the right options during install you get snapshot support out the gate which is the real cherry on top imo
