Between that and another round of depression, I've really produced zilch this year, and just hibernated. Hopefully, the braindust will settle soon :)

Absolutely on both posts! It's all just... And non-European students as well. Some don't have the speaking fluency because the opportunity hasn't been there for them OR they speak fluent English, but their own (recognised!) variants of English.

It's also almost laughable because it assumes that none of us foreigners may have obligatory English exams, which are 'A-level equivalent' (I do use that phrase loosely).

And I'm actually not against providing language learning support for migrants where needed, but this aint it.

I'm assuming something closer to what non-native foreigners have to do towards the end of school, where you sit your reading/writing/speaking exams (realistically, they probably just mean B1/B2 English tbf). It's all a load of nonsense anyway imo.

The even funnier thing is that a lot of countries have obligatory English exams harder than A-level English (looking at language/grammar, since lit is trickier to compare) :P

Being sent back to school would be the real nightmare.

Was the first time I saw Macbeth a retelling of Macbeth set in a primary school? Yes, why do you ask.

Did I see Much Ado about Nothing for the first time in a shit-face Shakespeare production with no explanation about what Much Ado about Nothing was about? Mayhaps.
