American gun laws might've allowed them to kill hundreds. It would've been at least on the scale of the 2017 Vegas massacre, probably double since there were two shooters. Anyone who says this proves gun control doesn't work has a pile of sawdust where their brain should.

I (a civilian) worked at a lab on an airforce base for a while and had to get a 24/7 base pass. This is heaps more information than the military asked for. I had permission to drive past the bomb testing range in the middle of the night and nobody ever asked for my social media history.

My dad is a naturalist so I grew up knowing all about the nature around me. I didn't realise how big a part of my identity it was to KNOW those things until I moved. It's wondrous and a little distressing to have no idea what things are.

It's so weird not having hummingbirds anymore. Especially in Australia? Like that's exactly the kind of flamboyant and bizarre creature this country specialises in. I miss them.

Anyways I've been in Australia for 11 days and I have identified 21 new species of birds for my life list.

My grandmother has been sick and I know if I go back to visit her I'll have more trouble getting back into the US than I had getting into Australia with my US passport.
