They've also got gorgeous purple flowers which are fun too. These were so delicious last year, can wait till this round is ready to harvest.

I'm loving learning how to grow #lettuce and other things from seed but dear GOD it is taking forever for the bebes to go from tiny seedling to something harvestable for lunch. Will have to keep supplementing it with stuff from the nursery till it matures. Not enough sun I guess.

That makes sense about the loose soil. This was one of the better ones from this year, in a raised garden bed. I also found out apparently if you leave them in the ground too long they get really bitter...

Fall #gardening update!
First year getting things started from seed has gone well
#kale (1) already ready to harvest, #broccoli (2) slowly coming in, #peas looking healthy, need a recipe for #beets and Chinese #radish. Finally #lemon and #orange starting to turn color too. Happy gardening!
