I’ve often correlated being from MPLS with my lifelong leftist politics, because my family moved to Texas right before I started middle school - and the culture shock of going from the city (and my diverse, well funded public school) to the conservative Bible Belt was eye opening, to say the least.

Unfortunately I’ve learned this lesson many times in adulthood. Y’all, if you’ve been diagnosed with MDD or a similar brain chemistry issue, don’t fuck with your mental health meds. If you feel “fine” it’s because the fucking meds work and you need to be on that dosage 🫠🫠

When I moved to California 15 months ago, I had a lot of trouble switching insurance & finding a new psychiatrist to get my Rx filled, so I tried to wean off my SSRI over the course of a few months, and then I found a doctor and went back on it, but at a lower dose.
