It's like "of course they're different, we're in the future now, why would you expect them to be the same" but obviously "different" doesn't mean "worse" just "different"

To play the loosest of devil's advocate, films from the 90's don't feel the same as the 70's nor do films from now feel like the 90's. Every 5-10 years there's a change because of trends, tech, actors, styles, etc.
But they always *mean* "bad" not just "different" and I agree that's dumb of them
