Random poking about produced this character. I don’t know who they are, but now I want to play them.

What were your first 3 #TTRPGbox sets, you say?

1. D&D Expert Set (Mentzer)

2. D&D Basic Set Set (Basic)

3. Dark Sun

Yes, I got the Expert Set first. (A birthday present—a friend assumed I already played and owned the Basic Set, haha. 🤓)

We’re gonna have leadership the way my old man told me: YOU, put a handkerchief on your head! YOU, swat at imaginary elves! YOU, rock on the porch all night!

Vale Edie the Wondermutt (2011-2025). Many a Pendragon session did you season (read: interrupt) with your watchful barks. 💔

The battle decided, Simcoe and Lauzun ended up crossing sabers in a duel over a lady, Charlotte Lee (of the Virginia Lees) who Simcoe had rescued from some tavern ruffians but who nonetheless wished to be escorted home by Lauzun.

As it turned out, the cannon proved decisive in the battle, stopping the French in their tracks and setting up a rather devastating cavalry charge from the British Light Dragoons. Simcoe and his men got away clean, and now Lauzun is chasing them back towards the British lines.

A force of allied French under Armand Louis de Gontaut, duc de Lauzun, descended on the town shortly after, incensed that the Rangers had made off with their single light cannon after rather carelessly leaving their baggage train unguarded. (You can imagine my GM glee!)

Over the past nine months, I’ve run a couple Revolutionary War campaigns of Sharp Practice for some of my local pals and this past weekend saw what will likely end up being the decisive battle (though that remains to be seen).

Forever grateful to @strangestudies.bsky.social for associating Walpurgisnacht in my mind with the idiotic protagonist of “Dracula’s Guest”
