Sister Gracy Thombrakudy, a member of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, has worked since 2015 to support migrant workers in Kerala, India. Using her experience from northern India, she helps migrants secure proper documentation, fair wages and spiritual support.

As spring approaches, the Nazareth Motherhouse grounds welcomes more visitors with area residents strolling the paths, enjoying the fresh air. Against this serene backdrop, Troop 4219 added something extra this week: a reminder that kindness is always in season.

At her core, Sister Murphy was a missionary in spirit. Though she never served abroad, she brought the world to Nazareth by launching a scholarship program for students from Latin America, Asia, and Europe.

Thursday afternoon, SCNs Luke Boiarski and Janet Ballard, along with volunteers, arrived in Jackson, Kentucky with a truckload of supplies for flood victims. Sister Amy Westbrook of Holy Cross Catholic Church, with whom the group connected, expressed deep gratitude for the support.

On Feb. 17, 2021, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth began ministry in Kenya. We continue to celebrate the Foundation of the mission in Kenya and their service at St. Francis of Assisi Academy and in the local parish in Marereni.

UPDATE: The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth Disaster Relief Team continues efforts to assist those affected by devastating flooding in Kentucky. Donations of clothing, baby formula, blankets, and nonperishable food have been collected at Nazareth and are being prepared for delivery.
