I do think there is a difference between "liking a variety of things" and being engaged in multiple fandoms. Fandom, at least in a modern context, tends to be more involved than simply liking something

One or more of the staff at my local friendly game store seem to be fans. They stock most of your stuff and they tend to bring them to Comic Con Stockholm where they for obvious reasons can only bring a small selection of their wares
