One of my favorite "the stated reason flies in the face of public perception" example used to be Aetherworks Marvel. Before the mothership lost the article, it used to be very fun to show people that the deck had a pretty mediocre winrate into much of its Standard, but needed to go anyway.

Magic players are very good at inventing their own justifications for cards being banned/ignoring the written reasons for them being banned. It's honestly remarkable.

Anyway I am not a habitual loser, so despite the fact that the ACA subsidies don't meaningfully impact my life, I would prefer a party that didn't roll over and show fascists their belly every nine seconds and actually improved people's lives.
It would be cool if Dems actually stood for anything.

But it is undeniable that doing so has made the national party deeply *deeply* stupid. Robbie Mook's dumb ass electoral strategy sunk Hillary in a winnable election. Why are we replicating the same failed strategy? It's just stupid.

When you have a President who is deeply unpopular in and outside of the party, and their successor ON NATIONAL TELEVISION says that "none come to mind haha" regarding differences w/ that President, how in God's name do you think you are winning?

This is not to cover for King: it is to ensure that we are aware of who he is. He is just about the most conservative Senator in the Dem caucus. Useful vote, of course, and Dems would be wise to keep him in the fold. But he isn't a litmus test for the caucus. 35-ish Senstors are extremely mad rn.
