I would be suspicious of the CPU, bent or missing pins for memory channels can cause boot failure. Worth taking it out to check, plus it’s an opportunity to try reseating it anyway.

That’s a close runner up, stick is better than the joycon guaranteed. And more ergonomic than the N64 as I seem to have misplaced my Nintendo mandatory 3rd arm.
