Not general press regulations. It is mostly about national broadcaster LRT. The government wants to change the way the Director General of LRT can be fired. Proposed law would make the position more dependent on the ruling coalition.

Idk, might have been something that the government tried to do to see what sticks 🤷♀️ Though it is literally against the law. I also wonder if that was the reason behind one million young russians just fleeing the country and that there were no attempts to stop them?

There was a silent consensus after the wars in Chechnya that the government will not use conscripts in its wars. If the government were to mobilise youngsters there would be massive upheavals in places that matter i.e. moscow and peterburg.
