You *can* use a broker to help get ACA insurance. You don’t have to, but one can be helpful and they don’t cost anything- like using a Medicare broker. But ACA plans are expensive because the GOP has sabotaged them at every opportunity since 2010.

Even IF the house passes an extension, would it pass the Senate? Would Trump sign it?

My wife and have 5 jobs between us, 2 kids in college & a combined income of <$100k. Our premiums next year will be $18k with a $10k deductible or $24k for a $4k deductible. It’s not sustainable.

A friend of ours was recently denied marriage in our church not because she’s gay but because she’s trans - the couple wanted a regular prayer book opposite sex marriage and were denied. I wish we could get to “that’s just called marriage.”

Not for nothing but he won the popular vote by the slimmest margin in modern history. He only won all those districts because of aggressive gerrymandering.

And the subsidies are giving money to people to make the plans more affordable. I don’t see how giving someone $1000 cash is better than making the plans $1000 cheaper to buy unless you want that $1000 to go to someone who’s currently not getting it which I suspect is the game here

Redeemer separated from the Episcopal Church in 2004 over sexuality issues (primarily the Gene Robinson consecration), led by our priest-in-charge. I was senior warden when it happened. They were AMiA for a while and are now ACNA.

It’s a whole story.
