I'm not familiar with either of those sites

I won't get into how corporations make it all worse. We know they do, but they also keep the lights on.

It sucks. I wish there was a solution, but I seriously doubt it. Not anytime soon, at least. (4/4)

And in the case of Cohost, it barely lasted two years before kicking the bucket.

Social media sites will either attract the wrong kinds of people, or crash and burn. That sadly seems to be the way things have gone, and will continue to for the forseeable future. (3/4)

The intentions of the founder(s) ultimately doesn't seem to matter. We saw the deterioration of sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr in real time. MySpace is dead. Mastodon is splintered to hell, and there generally isn't enough interest to actually cultivate a following over there. (2/4)
