i fucking loved The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and i still do because it's one of the fewest things that i feel so connected to.

now n' days though?

i've come to realize that i relate more to Nergal than i did with Mandy.

i was socially inept (still am, but a bit less).
i had no friends i could rely on; and when i did? they left cuz of what i was.
i'm scared to lose my friends, so i freak out when i see the signs.

being on the autism spectrum myself, it made sense as to why i (still) love this show so much.

as a kid, i related a lot to Mandy because i saw the world like she did... which is that it's full of really fucking stupid people.

a statement that seems to become a lot more truthful each day.

but the cherry on top for me on why i feel so connected to this show is because of one thing that was revealed by Maxwell Atoms himself.

back in 2021; Maxwell revealed that not only did he get diagnosed as on the spectrum, but also revealed Mandy, Billy and Grim are probably on it too!

the characters themselves are absolute gems. their personalities, their designs, and even how they came to be in current times are so unique. it's enough to make me want to put them under a microscope and pick at them with tweezers!

hell, i VERY MUCH RELATE to some of them (Nergal my man 🤝)

the show was not only well animated; but it also used its humor points in such a way that no other show could really get right without being JUST gross, weird or creepy.

the music is absolutely phenomenal, so much that i have Voltaire's music and some songs from the show on my playlists!
