My friend in Bavaria made this cake. It took her 6 hours. She named it 'Frankfurter Kranz.'

Cleaning out old letters. Sadly, most of them stopped after the early '90s.
Somehow a text just can't take the place of a letter written in special ink on scented stationary and inserted into a hand-stitched and tied-shut missive.

I'm so sorry to hear of prolific travel writer Arthur Frommer's passing. 😔 My ex and I used his $5 and $10 dollar-a-day books all over Europe in the early 70's, and later as a solo woman traveler. Bless you Arthur, for the courage and assurance you gave me, and so many others. 💖
