Tales from the bottom of society, as recalled from my experiences as a homeless meth addict and alcoholic in North Park, San Diego in the 1980's & 90's.

Unfortunately my drug addled thought processes were not up to par and when they were ready to transfer me I was unprepared, Once transferred to an indoor recreation area in the Chula Vista Jail with the weed in the tips of my shoes and being told to disrobe all & shoes. Fear and dread came upon me.

The most common way to sneak stuff into jail is an invasive and uncomfortable experience, so once I was put in a regular cell, out it came. The real reason I had it still was that I might actually be able to trade it for some commissary items, since all prior jail visits I was penniless.

Camp was under the I5 south ramp to Pershing Drive adjacent to 17th St., where we camped with 12-15 other homeless guys. More about life under the bridge at a later time.
