There are 1.4 billion catholics because of the birth rate in some countries. Children are being baptised, however church attendance in wealthier countries is dropping and it's more pronounced among the women.

So why are there men in the parish? If the church is the bride, then women should only be there. This literalising of a metaphor has to be done both ways.

He may have had up to 20 to 30 apostles, not just the inner circle of 12, who were with him at the last supper. The apostle Joanna/Junia could have been one.

This argument hinges on the reason why Jesus chose twelve men as apostles. It was to symbolise the twelve tribes of Israel, that he had come to judge the Israelites and so he was the messiah. Jesus did not ordain these men as priests.

I think this will happen. It's not likely that a woman with a 1st class honours degree from Harvard or Oxford will accept this treatment.

On X, there have been some disgusting misogynist posts. They talk about the apostles being male but this is a NEW argument. The reason given by Thomas Aquinas was female inferiority.
