He wants Canada and Greenland as well. He's mad, quite mad.

Of course. A metaphor is a b----y metaphor. Jesus is a shepherd and so the church is full of sheep. Jesus is a light, the church is pitch black and the priest has a lamp on his head!!!!!

JPII made an apology to women but the church must do more to renounce it's history of misogyny.

I think their patience is running thin, though.

The catholic complementarianism!!! They're no better than the evangelists.

There are written instructions in the east for the ordination of women and men. So no, they weren't all deacon's wives but some were.

Silly woman.

There are 1.4 billion catholics because of the birth rate in some countries. Children are being baptised, however church attendance in wealthier countries is dropping and it's more pronounced among the women.

So why are there men in the parish? If the church is the bride, then women should only be there. This literalising of a metaphor has to be done both ways.

That's why they're not doing it.

Do you not mean Phoebe? But you're right, the complementarians are constantly downplaying women.

He may have had up to 20 to 30 apostles, not just the inner circle of 12, who were with him at the last supper. The apostle Joanna/Junia could have been one.

This argument hinges on the reason why Jesus chose twelve men as apostles. It was to symbolise the twelve tribes of Israel, that he had come to judge the Israelites and so he was the messiah. Jesus did not ordain these men as priests.

I think there were a few women.
December 5, 2025 at 10:13 PM
I think this will happen. It's not likely that a woman with a 1st class honours degree from Harvard or Oxford will accept this treatment.
December 5, 2025 at 10:11 PM
That's the reason why John Wijngaards stated they wouldn't ordain women. Holy orders are the sticking point.
December 5, 2025 at 10:06 PM
On X, there have been some disgusting misogynist posts. They talk about the apostles being male but this is a NEW argument. The reason given by Thomas Aquinas was female inferiority.
December 5, 2025 at 9:55 PM
They think the vatican will be dominated by women and I think they could be right. 55% of ordained deacon s in the CoE are women.

I believe she's more than likely not guilty and I'm on the left.
