Did you know Monsters of Mican has a free #Demo version with a save file that transfers over to the full version? In the demo you can explore the town, Arena, Glade and first three main dungeon levels, upwards of 5-10 hours of content!

I've issued an update to Monsters of Mican to (hopefully) bring it closer to Steam Deck Verified than just Steam Deck Playable like it is now.

The game should now boot in the proper resolution with the gamepad controls enabled, when launching on Steam Deck!

Yeah ideally I would do that but I'm having trouble even gaining access to that variable in blueprints.

Linux detected + controller detected should probably be an accurate shortcut in most cases, I would think. And all I'd be doing with the info is enabling gamepad controls by default so 🤷

Fellow unreal engine devs, would searching for an attached controller and whether the current platform is Linux probably be enough to determine whether the game is running on a steam deck?

I don't have a steam deck I can test with but I want to upgrade Mican from playable to verified 🙏🙏

Allow me to share my most frustrating experience in gaming.

I tied the top juggle score not once but TWICE. The first time I figured, oh well at least I hit the record, I'm sure they'll give me the win. But nope.

Then the second time I nearly threw my Switch 2 at the wall.

To be honest I'm not entirely sure how steam cloud will change the equation, I just know how unreal specifically chooses the local save file destination.
