Half way thought the portal, Jo Williams and JuJu have been active on social media recruiting and pumping up the base. Leaders. Love seeing it.

JSeat? Nothing. Crickets. So lame. What a disappointment.

Portal closes in one week and the Buffs need (in order of priority):

-S
-IOL
-DT

And another LB. Based on my own payroll estimate of ~$22m they can add another 8-10 fair value players ($200k) and stay within that range.

Good write up. Prime and CU deserve props for acing their portal homework. I do wonder why other programs didn’t try to use this exact portal playbook, or they did, but Prime and the pull of the Buffs brand is stronger and won out in a lot of H2H recruiting battles.

What a win by the Buffs! Props to Tad bc I would have been ejected for losing my shit. Investigate those refs, that was absolutely ridiculous.

Portal open, lot of scheduled visits announced. Ok, but CU has just 40 players on roster. The Buffs need half a rosters worth of players signed.

Really interesting to see if the traditional “scheduled visits with 3 schools” approach works with the new portal window. I bet it doesn’t.

Happy New Years Buffs. With Merritt transferring, we’re in a CFB limbo state. Until there’s:

-Multi-year, enforceable contracts
-Some realignment consolidation

Things are not good. Don’t get excited about anyone. Hopefully our Buffs are on the right side of what comes next bc this ain’t it.

Fernando Lovo is 37. Marion is 38. Livingston is 39. Idk if we’ve ever seen three of the five most important athletic roles at CU under 40yrs old.

Tad’s man defense allows everyone to get backed into the paint, without any help, and a few pump fakes later it’s an easy bucket. To top it off, the perimeter d is garbage, too. No strategy or toughness.

I’ll put it this way, CU lost to a team that spends $0 in NIL. This is not an NIL problem.

Malone is sabotaging the program. I know Tad sees him as a project but it’s time to give it up already.
Final box score from #CUBuffs 86-81 loss to Northern Colorado:

I regret spending a second listening to this. These YouTube channels do not have any inside info about CU. Just babbling to fill air time.

There’s no way CU can have Neely go around saying how much Prime knows if the Buffs don’t win 7-8 games next year. I have faith but this is getting old.

Saw some drama regarding Byard and if he was worth the money to keep. Only 3 defensive players I would go to bat for: Byard, McPherson and Merritt. Yes, should have paid.

List of seniors where I don’t know if they have another year of eligibility left:

-A. McNeill
-J. Brown
-A. Barnes
-R. Hughes
-D. Taylor
-S. Price
-S. Brown

And the SR OL. If Meyers is entering the portal, then that means he *thinks* he has eligibility left. They might too.

What I think happened: Prime gave players a deadline to be in or out and today was the deadline.
December 20, 2025 at 4:08 AM
Aside from Byard, McPherson and O. Miller, there’s not another portal entry that is irreplaceable. CU has lost depth pieces off of a pretty bad team.
December 19, 2025 at 10:41 PM
DE Alex McPherson hopping in the portal is a code red for CU and its ability to fundraise and retain talent.
December 19, 2025 at 5:10 PM
If there were betting odds for Buffs portal entries:

H. Williams -110
T. Timmons -110
S. Okunlola -110
K. Salter -110
D. Miller +110
D. McKinney +250
J. Seaton +250

I don’t know how much the Buffs paid Carde Smith to sit in the bench his true freshman year, but the ROI was $0.
December 18, 2025 at 9:00 PM
Really curious how much Miller and Byard got paid to transfer. $1M?

The Big 12 and Colorado are getting a “cash infusion”. Wtf does that mean, a really big credit card?

“The Big 12 is not giving up any stake or equity to the firms” it says. Ok then.

Two things can be true. First, Livingston had a good 2024. I could have been the DC in 2024 and won 9 games. Second, he wasn’t good in 2025, players were constantly out of position and that was on him. He might need to be in the box vs sidelines.

On the Utah PE move, my first thought is as a deep red state they are likely immune from political pressure they would face re: revoking non-profit status.

If you’ve ever wondered why Brent Schrotenboer posts the occasional CU Buffs article on USA Today, it’s because he’s CU alumni. The things you read in an alumni newsletter… yes I actually read them. Good stuff @schrotenboer.bsky.social

🦬 🧵 Let’s talk about Colorado’s roster as it stands today.

Freshmen - 21 (8 RS, 13 TR)
Sophomores - 8
Juniors - 9
Seniors - 15

Total - 53

I’m not counting possible medical RS in Taylor, Price. Or who burned a RS (Farrakhan?). I don’t know.
