4hrs in the brick oven (590°F) + 30min in the conventional oven bc there wasn't enough residual heat. (down to 303°F when we switched over -- a first in 23 years, but a bigger bird than past several)

Democrats called for gun reform and right wingers made jokes about it. Trump said calling anybody to give his condolences would be a waste of time and then skipped the funeral. So we don't have to imagine. It literally just happened. And not a single person on the left called for a war, or called for the Republican party to be labeled a domestic terrorist organization. You cared so little that you don't even remember it.

I read this book about 40 years ago. This introduction was written just over 51 years ago.

Some things change, some things stay the same, and some things just slowly creep along the same trajectory with minor zigs and zags, but ever towards the same oblivion.
