I fly aeroplanes, walk in the hills, travel the world, custodian of some classic cars and live in rural Scotland mostly but sometimes in France.
Haven’t been on the flight deck for a while. First night flight and I see Santa. Well that’s what I’m telling the kids.

The power of nature from a pilot’s viewpoint. Absolutely not to be messed with. This one (over Niger at 41,000’) took a while to get around.

Nighttime approach into Dallas. A favourite when the weather is nice.

It’s 0440 in the morning in Dubai and it’s simulator time. Or the sweat box as it’s often called. A valuable training and checking tool but I’ve never been able to shake off that ‘night before the exam’ feeling.

That special moment when the sun makes its entrance after a long night is always incredible. This one over South Africa.
