hello!! i’m a transfemme musician and gamedev, my friends and i just released our first game Flowerdrops (a peggle-like), and i’m available to make music for YOU, the person reading this! 🎹

i’m so incredibly proud of our work, and i know there are tons of people out there who would love it too!

hell yeah, this is so satisfying

i'd like to avoid using a shader for this just because it'd be nice to use the built-in color correction stuff, but of course i am aware of several very good palette-limiting shaders

ah yeah that's a great solution too, i always forget about gimp 💪

i intentionally chose a VERY limited palette but this is still sick as hell lol, glad i learned a new trick

the process is 1% finicky as someone who's never used GrafX2 before, but it's fairly simple! i may do an actual tutorial at some point, but the basic process is:
1. load the palette into GrafX2
2. run the analysis script
3. crop it to just the LUT portion of the image

with the default palette:

FYI you can make these palette analyses yourself with GrafX2 and DB's toolbox (this is what lospec uses under the hood)
pulkomandy.tk/projects/Gra...
pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_...

you're gonna specifically want to install GrafX2 version 2.4 as per the author's note on these scripts

this is what i ended up doing!
ok i figured out a very simple solution lol -- simply crop out the part i need from the palette analysis

no totally, i am new to this terminology -- i wanted this specific format of image (i guess this specifically is a 3D texture?) for use with godot

lospec itself even has something like this in its palette analyzer, but i want to be able to run JUST the part of the script that generates the LUT

the chicken crossing the road is not at danger of being hit by a car because it doesn't exist. this is just a story we are telling. if you don't like the story, if it's too dark for you, you can click the "X" in the corner and it will go away.

and because I want to live like an adult and I want to make and play interesting things, and I want broke devs to have a chance at gaining a living by distributing their normal ass artwork, I want something better than these platform and payment monopolies to exist for us. supporting itch is a start
