I am honestly enjoying it so far. And yeah I think they made some of the world designed around the bike. The desert is just big and empty, but I enjoyed the first two areas so far and I'm in the lava area now.

Yeah, they were doing pretty bad as a company. I guess people just want them to be more like they were in that era. More fun and not so scummy.

I think some are just trying to say that Nintendo was more of the cool dad during the GC and Wii era, Iwata wasn't a great businessman but he was at least on the gamer's side and was clearly passionate about it. Current Nintendo is just cold and corporate now.

The area and boss is a pain but don't let it detract from the rest of the game :p i hate Lost Izalith and Tomb of the Giants but they don't invalidate the rest of Dark Souls 1.

I feel like the open world part will be a sort of transitional area between other sections. Sort of like the elevators in prime 1 and 2 but interactive.

People hate fun. It looks awesome. And I'm not worried about the apparent open desert area either.

It's not objective fact that it's a bad decision. If you think it is that's your opinion, but I don't think it's a bad decision.
September 17, 2025 at 8:05 PM
It's not a BAD thing to not include options. Again, it's the choice of the developer. Also, there's a difference between accessibility and difficulty, which too many people seem to misunderstand.
September 17, 2025 at 7:58 PM
Some people can't play FPSs. Some people can't play RPGs. It's the same thing. Difficulty is built into the core design of these games, overcoming challenges. Whether it's fair difficulty is ultimately up to the person, though. It's okay to disagree. You can choose not to support the devs.
September 17, 2025 at 7:53 PM
Part of these games are overcoming obstacles and feeling the satisfaction of beating a tough boss. It's not for everyone and that's okay.
September 17, 2025 at 7:44 PM
I feel "games should have intentional design and artistic goals beyond broadly appealing to a wide audience" is what games like Hollow Knight and Dark Souls go for. Whether it's fair difficulty is up to the individual player, though. But ultimately they designed the games to be challenging.
September 17, 2025 at 7:43 PM
It's okay if you disagree with that, of course. But ultimately it's up to the decision of the designers.
September 17, 2025 at 7:40 PM
They can but choose not to. It's their decision. It sucks that some people won't be able to play it but that's how it is. It's neither bad nor good. Devs like Team Cherry and Fromsoft design their games around difficulty, and I imagine balancing multiple difficulty options is harder.
September 17, 2025 at 7:39 PM
There's nothing wrong with not having difficulty options, you don't HAVE to play a game if you don't like it not having them. You don't have to give the dev your money. Genres exist for a reason too because not everyone likes every genre. It's the same thing with difficult games more or less.
