End of an era today……Gas meter removed from the house. No longer required.

2024 data is in. Consumed 16,445 kWh of power but only 3% of that was day grid stuff. Drove 31,000 miles, 27,000 of which was in EVs. Sub 6p a kWh even allowing for capital costs. Heat pump consumed 3621 kWh.

More than a third of the world’s commercial shipping capacity carries fossil fuels, including:

🚢 3,000 LNG/LPG tankers
⛏️2,500 bulk carriers transporting coal

Large proportion of the world’s shipping fleet are ghost ships in the making, even if owners don’t yet realise it.
