Interesting, my brain says the opposite.

First one reminds me of my worst allergies. Tree pollen, goldenrod, & dandelions.

Second one immediately made me think of lemons.

I really want to love modern Minecraft, but it's just not enjoyable without a bunch of mods anymore.

There is not much unique loot, and what there is isn't good.

E.g. Ancient cities have an item that shows you the position of your last death, so you recover items.

But if you can survive an ancient city, the most difficult area in the game, you probably arent dying enough for it to be useful.

In early versions, the day-night cycle forced you to stop collecting above ground and build, go caving, or fight. It encouraged creativity & challenging situations, which are fun.

Beds remove that encouragement.

Plopping down a bed every 8 mins to avoid phantoms is annoying, not fun.

You can't just not use features you dislike either. Every player on a server will use the most efficient option, else they handicap themselves.

Playing beta multiplayer fixes these problems, but I don't want to give up all modern features.

I like having tripwires, dispensers, nametags, foxes, etc.

I don't think Elytra needs removed, but it needs balancing, so its only used when necessary.

Maybe make it lose durability much faster, so players risk breaking it when used often. Or make it not work with fireworks.
November 13, 2025 at 6:06 PM
Then theres Elytra, which shouldn't have been added. It renders all other movement options obsolete, deincentivises exploring on the ground, and is the most boring option. Endlessly farming for fireworks is not fun, nor creative.

The most creative option ends up being used least.

It's an easy fix too. Make ice melt in the nether, and make minecarts faster than horses & ice boats.

Horses would still be better for exploring, but minecarts would be ideal for traveling between bases. + Players could still have ice boats races
November 13, 2025 at 6:06 PM
Take minecarts for example.

They're really fun to set up, and encourage creativity.

Sprinting is nearly as fast though, and there are horses which are faster. Neither of which are tied to a track.

And nether ice boats, which shouldn't even exist. Why does *ice* not melt in *literal hell*.

It feels like everytime Mojang adds a new feature, they design it in a vacuum, not considering the other things already in the game.

If you want an easy way to use the drives, you could set up a home server and put them in a RAID.

Thats what I did with an old pc my boss was going to toss, he said it was "too old to use for anything.

Added some RAM and a cheap GPU, and its been my file backup and Minecraft server for ~6 years.

That's a very common feeling among artists. I promise your art is still great, you're just in an "art low".

I.e. right now, your skill at judging art is increasing faster than your skill at making art.

Don't worry too much about bothering followers, the OnlyPosts feed exists for anyone who doesn't want reposts in their feed.

Also, post notifications don't notify for reposts unless "Replies" is also turned on.

Unless you're flooding your page with tons of reposts, I doubt anyone would care.

In that case do you think he was like "Ja, je mag fan-art maken, maar je mag ze niet tekenen terwijl ze neuken of drugs gebruiken." or was he just chill.
