I'm not getting nearly enough cRPG posts here. Anybody have recommendations on good cRPG devs/creators I should be following?

I don't disagree but if money is your goal TOC still doesn't make any sense. From an artistic standpoint I can definitely see the vision but nobody thought that game was going to rake in cash. They would be better off going back to the original formula.

Gotcha that makes sense. 😂

I don't remember from your review, were you a fan of the soundtrack? I thought it was mediocre especially considering the great music the series has had.

I'm at a point where I strongly prefer games that provide choices. The streamlined, narrative style of the original Mafia games doesn't allow for that. I don't need the next one to be open world but I'd definitely like more control over my character.

I don't blame you, Mafia 3 was too open and the tasks were repetitive. That being said TOC looked like an over correction to me. I'd be interested to hear how you feel it stacks up to the rest of the series after playing it.

It's very unfortunate to hear this but it's not at all surprising. Hopefully soon both devs and publishers realize you've got to stick with your guns and make the game that you want to make. Somebody is going to complain no matter what.

This constant need to make games that please EVERYBODY is destroying the industry. I really wish some publishers would be more comfortable making specific products for specific markets.

SAME my friend. Absolutely the same. LOL

Yup it was almost an MMO and that significantly hurt the gameplay loop. I enjoyed Mafia 3 but it had weaknesses. Unfortunately Mafia: TOC seemed like a step too far in the other direction.

I honestly don't understand the appeal of going back in time the way they did. That setting just isn't going to be appealing for most American gamers and that shows in the sales.

I strongly got that feeling and felt safe skipping it.

This game would've done RIDICULOUSLY well. Yes there are a lot of people who wouldn't have liked it. There is also an equal amount of people who would've been THRILLED about it and we would've come out in droves. Ubisoft cannot stop sabotaging itself.

Mafia 3 sold 7 million copies and had the highest sales in the entire series. For comparison, Mafia: The Old Country sold 800K in it's first week while Mafia 3 sold 4.5 million.

The crazy thing is this game would've made BUCKETS of money. I didn't play Shadows on my channel at all but I would've livestreamed this TWICE with no reservations.

Absolutely. Honestly all the way around despite being completely new, Epictellers come off as a very professional studio. The media event was well organized and executed.

Man the Starfinder: Afterlight Kickstarter is STILL going strong and now almost sits at 350K!

Two more tiers are almost complete. Sounds like this game is going to have quite a bit of voice acting which is phenomenal.

The Kickstarter for Starfinder: Afterlight has reached 250K! Wow I know Epictellers have to be popping bottles in Barcelona right now!

No clue where the goals go from here. Maybe more companions?

No idea what this is but that cover is awesome. LOL

In case some of you are looking for more information regarding Starfinder: Afterlight, here's a clip from my video with some basic details. There's a lot more information in the full video linked below. :)

SICK. Another Starfinder: Afterlight Kickstarter goal cleared, allowing the game to have significantly more voice acting. I wonder what the next one will be!
slandered.bsky.social
I wonder if reaching this also makes it more likely that Neil Newbon will voice one of the characters.

There's a new goal on the Starfinder: Afterlight Kickstarter! Having all the main villains fully voice acted would be AMAZING!

Currently they are sitting at 155K so there's a good chance this target will be met. :)
