i dont know how well known this sort of thing was before the episode aired but i cant believe people looked at that scene and thought that having the flashing happen so fast and with so much contrast was a good idea

we skipped the porygon episode but i went back to watch it out of curiosity, ive seen a lot of old anime that had lots of flashing lights and always wondered what made this one so bad compared to anything that came before it

im still thinking of going back to older chapters and redrawing them, just for consistency, but i think there's also something quaint in seeing it change over time

i'd like to be more consistent with posting these and also maybe get my own website for it, but i dont know how id set that up

like yeah modern spider-man tends to be really bad but i can just ignore all of the bad stuff, i have so much choice

im using manga as an example because thats what it usually gets compared to but i still see people say the endings to certain manga are the worst thing ever years after they finish

i think the criticism that cape comics are hard to get into compared to manga because theres just so many different entry points is fair but also really funny because to me thats probably the best part of the medium

for some stuff i think its cool, like one piece's recent story arcs have some of the best animation ive ever seen and the source material lends really well to that

imo stuff like junji ito's works kind of get sanded off through adaptation though, i think the storytelling just lends to comics better

i do like adaptations, but i think comics as an art form are underrated for the things they're able to achieve that other mediums may not be able to

shiori experience is my favorite example because of how important music is to it and how conveys the feeling of music in a medium with no sound
