i'd forgotten that she (& jeannine amber) published her memoir in 2017, before she was nearly as well-known as she is now. i borrowed the audiobook from libby to prep & i'm planning to finish it for leisure. her voice is *really* endearing and jeannine's writing is fantastic, as always.

also: waymos? like... what are we even doing?

it's been so long since we were a proper country.

like... we asked for *flying* cars. and in-home digital dumbwaiters to serve us instant food like on the jetsons.

not this.

also weird? the way ai keeps cropping up in insidious and uncomfortable ways.

on my smart tv, one of the aps now has an ai note in the lower third that "recaps" what i've already streamed of a tv series or film, like... the energy and water being wasted on that is criminal.

i figure it would make sense to wait to start a program until my daughter graduates high school in three years. so i wouldn't even be *starting* until 49.

then again: i still want it. bad. for whatever reason. so i should just go get it. whenever.

sometimes i think i'm still going to get one. but i don't know if it's still worth it. i wouldn't finish it before my 50s and i'd only be getting it on principle, as i doubt my career prospects would be significantly impacted by earning one at that age.

i’ve been hearing “tay” more recently and it’s driving me nuts. kind of like when zendaya was new and folks were saying zen-die-ah for a minute.

i mean, parts of it are reminiscent of that.

and as far as him, as a public figure, i have him in the same category of mind as shamiek moore, in that i can still appreciate his work in the spiderverse films even though an asterisk always hovers.

this album kiiinda puts you in the mind of late-stage Kanye, when he was doing the choir thing and the church services in the desert or whatever that was?

apparently this has been out since october. it’s no Freudian (it shouldn’t be. it can’t be.) but it’s really lovely. he’s an outstanding writer and a very eccentric, introspective character.

mind you, i still consider Freudian to be one of the most compelling albums the 2010s yielded. so i do check back in on him from time to time. (word to rolling ray.)
