True . I would also like to tell that no matter how much people hate or like something: it matters what YOU think of that thing! You like an unpopular movie or character? It's ok because your opinion matters! Same if you don't like something that is popular ( of course, as long as you are polite )

But after that experience I knew enough to keep hive dealings far from my animation work. I was a self running comic so I didn’t have to deal w much after, but once it became clear that mutuals weren’t being paid, a lot of similar treatment happening, it was time to move my comic.

Demanded the hive bee logo at the end of the short, and then getting an email to meet w my Hiveworks editor???? (I had made the comic by myself for close to 4 years at that point) that was not at all in my hive contract. I was able to talk them thru this to stay away from nick, -

So I might be a little too used to bad/weird/ exec behavior.
Navigating my contract for Harpy while at nick was tricky and expensive for me, I got what I wanted and I was glad. But there was someone at hive who kept asking for meetings w high up nick execs (I do not have access to them lol)

The numbers to be popular enough to fund. Which fair, I’ve had similar convos while in animation dev at studios. So to me I told myself to not take it personally, my comic was supposed to be my hobby away from animation anyway.

Adding to this for context:
I was overall mostly left alone at Hiveworks to do my own thing, which was good. I was glad to have help w hosting, and eventually a place to sell books online. Mostly tho when I asked for help printing more books or merch I was told I was a smaller comic and not doing -
