Fwiw I do believe we'll see bigger migrations to something better eventually, although I don't think anything will be the same scale as insta. But it might take a fair amount of time :')

Same, plus I couldn't make video even if I wanted to because of my perpetually low internal battery meaning I need to prioritise other things :')
And yeah, unfortunately I think it's a combo of alternatives being a bit too specialised and it being very hard to enter the mainstream consciousness

I'm pretty sure nobody knows because insta intentionally made it unintuitive to find that option. But yeah... I understand the frustration orz

There's that, but a lot of insta alternatives, unfortunately, also don't have mass appeal. And it's another one of those unfortunate situations where you gotta leave to make a better place, but it's also very risky if your living depends on it.

Yeah, that's my overall issue with meta products. They're incredibly shady. And yet it's sadly so hard to move people from insta (myself included) because it's the most established platform of its kind orz

I wish we could disseminate the vital knowledge that if you tap the logo, you can choose to only see those you've followed on your TL. I'm just one person and repeating it only goes so far

I still do think it's rough that features that increase the quality of your experience aren't intuitive to find. And I have other issues with the platform. But still.
