Unlike pandas, life isn’t black and white, so we need to live in the gray. Sometimes that means accepting or forgiving people for not always being perfect. Hitting a paywall for a link? Check https://archive.ph/ to see if it's been saved.

Trump is not that tough. He likes to pick on those who have less power than he does, but will run like a baby if someone fights back.

It's easier if we all fight back together.

Anyone that Brett Kavanaugh says can be treated like an undocumented immigrant should get a rape whistle or personal alarm and blow the whistle/activate the alarm if stopped by a masked, unidentified person.

Anyone who sees an attempted abduction should call 911 to report a kidnapping in process.

This is exactly why ICE needs to be unmasked and ID’d — like cops.

📌 Cases of ICE impersonators this year alone outnumber the last four presidential terms combined.

They make it *sound* like they're "both siding" with the headline mention of Comey. But Comey is mentioned only four times: the headline, the picture caption, and twice in a single paragraph that just describes the news of his arraignment today. It's really just a hit piece on Jack Smith.

This story struck me, because I've heard so much about the Chicago apartment building raid, and thought everyone else had as well. I think that maybe I need to talk about these things more often to be sure other people know what's going on.
Over the weekend I talked to a couple of people, people who generally try to keep abreast of the news, about the Chicago apartment raid last Tuesday — and discovered that they hadn’t heard about it. And that’s extremely worrying. It suggests that many people don’t realize how fast and aggressively the Trump administration is moving to end rule of law and convert America into a full-fledged autocracy.

If you are a federal worker, there are several credit unions and other financial institutions that are offering zero interest loans during the government shutdown.

For a lot of us, even though we knew it was happening, it's more visceral to actually see it in all the videos. Emotional knowledge vs. intellectual knowledge.

1) These are not trained officers--it looks like what you get if you just advertise for day work.

2) The bystanders did this without touching the ICE "agents." Nothing that could be used as a basis for criminal charges or military intervention.

Don't forget Marco Rubio. He knew, and didn't stop it.

Holy crap! Is he going to start dropping bombs on us from drones? I know he wants to, but...

My gosh. After the US bombed multiple boats in the middle of the ocean, murdering people on grounds that they were allegedly "carrying drugs," the US Attorney General says "Just like we did with cartels, we're going to take the same approach, President Trump, with Antifa."

Or Department of Defense.

It's even worse than that. (If we have a major terrorist attack in the next few years, you know they're going to say it's Biden's fault.)

Agents have been pulled from duties related to cybercrimes, drug trafficking, terrorism, counterintelligence and more, the statistics show. Agents assigned to immigration enforcement are working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement to locate and arrest people in the country illegally.

The total amount of FBI resources devoted to immigration is probably higher than even the 25 percent figure. The FBI reassignment data Warner obtained reflects the number of agents working on immigration at least 50 percent of their time. It does not account for scores of other agents who have been detailed to immigration enforcement a lesser portion of their time.

This is one of many sources that shows that immigrants, and especially undocumented immigrants, commit crimes at a lower rate than native-born Americans.

They aren't bothering to charge and prosecute most of the ones they are rounding up now. They're just deporting them as fast as they can.

No one's "singling out" the comedians. They are adding themselves to the list of people who put their own self-interest above common decency. Not "only comedians," but "and also comedians."

One year from now, how many people are even going to remember who Charlie Kirk was? (See today.yougov.com/topics/inter... on who knew of him).

Or will view him more favorably than they do now? Based on this polling, I'm guessing not many.

I don't think so either. Maybe if they raised prices by 20%, they'll drop it back to a net 15% increase, but they'll still come out ahead.

What's really f'd up is that, if the tariffs are thrown out by the courts, the refunds will go to the businesses that paid them originally (probably the importing wholesaler or large company that paid when they came off the boat). But that won't go back to the consumers who paid the higher prices.

AOC: "Stephen Miller is a CLOWN. He looks like he's 4’10”. He looks like he's angry about the fact that he's 4’10”. He's taking that anger out at any other population possible. Like, LAUGH AT THEM. Laugh at them."

An argument for buying physical books. I know that Amazon has, in the past, pulled or edited already-purchased books to handle changes like this. Not sure how other e-book sellers handle it.
