Another Novella Recommendation! The Dragon and Her Princess by @vyriadurav.bsky.social is a delightful fantasy romance full of charm. I really loved how trans femininity was handled in this and how the other characters express love for Tres and admiration for her contribution to the revolution ⚔️✊

Keep pressuring Microsoft to end all complicity. As a consumer, boycott Microsoft products whenever possible and join the Xbox boycott. Pressure your local government to divest from Microsoft, cut contracts with the company, organize to prevent the construction of data centers in your community, and campaign for community events to cut ties with Microsoft. The Atlantic: "Jewish students have slowly been drifting away from the elite campuses of the Northeast over the past two decades, Rose Horowitch writes-a trend that intensified amid the protest movement that erupted after the Israeli response to the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack. Now some colleges outside the Northeast are "tripping over one another to recruit" top Jewish students. "The recent wave of anti-Israel campus activism, and accompanying incidents of anti-Semitism, have mostly taken place at a small number of hyper-selective schools," Horowitch reports. "And high-school seniors have noticed." According to data gathered by Hillel, the national Jewish student organization, the population of Jewish undergraduates at Harvard, Columbia, Cornell, and theUniversity of Pennsylvania shrank by 3 to 5 percent from 2023 to 2025. Although "many Jewish students still apply and get admitted to the Ivies," Horowitch writes, "anecdotal reports suggest that a significant number of high-achieving Jewish teenagers are deciding not to apply to them at all." In response, schools in the South and Midwest-many of which have cracked down on protests-are taking advanta ge of this moment to recruit top Jewish students. Jewish-student interest in Emory, as well as in Vanderbilt, has more than doubled since October 7, 2023, rabbis at the universities told Horowitch. Meanwhile, the University of Florida's Hillel chapter experienced a 50 percent increase in student participation from 2021 to 2025. "These colleges are recruiting Jewish students not out of pure munificence or southern hospitality, but because it can be very good for their bottom line," Horowitch continues at the link in our bio.

Politics of the Spineless loves to lean on polling data to reason their way out of human rights
Article of the NYT reading as follows: I want to pick up on the polling. There's this YouGov polling from January that looked at all these different issues. There are a lot of issues around trans rights that actually poll great. Protection for trans people against hate crimes: plus 36 net approval. Banning employers from firing trans people because of their identity: plus 33. Allowing transgender people to serve in the military, which Donald Trump is trying to rescind: plus 22. Requiring all new public buildings to include gender-neutral bathrooms: This surprised me plus seven. Then there's the other side. Everybody knows that the sports issue is tough in the polling, but banning people under 18 from attending drag shows - that's popular. Banning youth from accessing puberty blockers and hormones - that's very popular. Banning public schools from teaching lessons on transgender issues - that's popular. Requiring transgender people to use bathrooms that match their biological sex that is popular. When you look at these lists of issues, what do you see as dividing them? What cuts the issues that you could win on now from those that have heavy disapproval?
